The quaint town of Greyton comes alive every year for the Greyton Classic Adventure Weekend, a festival of mud, tyres and takkies.

This year saw the inaugural 2 day mountain bike stage race, a night trail run and 2 kiddies races added to the plethora of activities on offer over a 4 day winter getaway.

2km Family Walk/Run

Let the little ones take part as well so that the WHOLE family is involved.

2 Day MTB stage Race Full Race of +/- 70km a day and a 15km starter race for the younger generation as well as the Greyton
Classic 1 day Race 70km + 35km

image-3Greyton is known for its amazing mountain bike trails that suit all skill levels, take a relaxing meander through the Fynbos or get the adrenalin pumping and test your fitness on trails built for the Absa Cape Epic. Most of these trails are available all year round, and if you do not have a bicycle? Don’t fret, you can hire one in the centre of town and explore away.

With 4 different cycling events to choose from over the weekend, it is a great starter race for the beginners or a perfect training ride for the weekend warriors out there!

The views are spectacular, that make the climbs worth it in the end. Promise

21km and 10km Trail run

Some choose to stay with both feet planted firmly on the ground and for those, a 21 or 10km jaunt through the hills is the perfect way to escape back into nature before a hearty breakfast at a local café or a warm drink next to the fire at the Post House (which you may recognise it from the “Get that man a bells” advert)

With all the different activities to choose from, there was something for everyone. If racing isn’t your cup of tea, try a spot of wine tasting at Lismore Estate, visit the Weekly outdoor market, go for a horse or pony ride and explore the local crafts and cuisine (including gourmet chocolates!) in the beautiful shops and restaurants dotted around the small town.
